- 10-Year Anniversary of E-Commerce *Shop.org, an online retailing industry association, offers an informative seven-minute video exploring the first 10 years of e-commerce. The video includes conversations with several industry pioneers who provide good stories about the early days of Internet business.
- Advisory Commission On Electronic Commerce Report to Congress *The commission was charged with investigating and reporting the effects e-commerce has on tariffs and taxation. The site includes a full draft of the final report which was delivered to the U.S. Congress in April 2000 and a nice library of sources used to gather data for the report. The committee was disbanded after release of the report but the report may still prove useful for some researchers.
- DoubleClick Research Reports *This leading online advertising service provider has a special research and reports section covering many issues related to Internet advertising metrics. Also includes a special report titled The Decade in Online Advertising (1994-2004) (in PDF format) that provides a nice summary of the history of online advertising beginning with the first banner ads in 1994.
- Hobbes' Internet Timeline *Nice description of the progress of the Internet, presented in the form of a timeline beginning in the 1950s and extending to present day.
- Internet Society (ISOC) History of the Internet *This site is essentially a "History of the Internet Directory" that provides numerous links to articles and sites that give their account of how the Internet has evolved.
- The Internet's History and Development *Brief but useful source of information about the history of the Internet. Though last updated in 1995 still provides good information about the early days of the Internet.
