- ClickZ Stats *Good all around information site focusing on Internet, technology and business issues including regular summaries of research studies performed by market research companies and a very nice Stats Toolbox which offers summary results of various key statistics.
- DoubleClick Research Reports *This leading online advertising service provider has a special research and reports section covering many issues related to Internet advertising metrics. Also includes a special report titled The Decade in Online Advertising (1994-2004) (in PDF format) that provides a nice summary of the history of online advertising beginning with the first banner ads in 1994.
- E-Stats Measuring the Electronic Economy *US Census Bureau reports on the state of e-Business within U.S. companies. Includes quarterly retail ecommerce retail sales report.
- MediaPost - Research Briefs *Every business day this site posts metrics and results of market studies covering media, Internet and technology topics. While the daily post is accessible, previous postings will require user registration (free).
- Nielsen/NetRatings Resources *This service of Nielsen/NetRatings used to offer access to really good stats under its AdRelevance area but has scaled back the free stuff and now only offers a few Internet advertising statistics. Worth a look if you want basic information such as leading Internet advertisers or leading ad sizes.
- Pew Internet and American Life Project *Pew Charitable Trust has commissioned this on-going research project (mostly based on telephone interviews) that “explores the impact of the Internet on children, families, communities, the work place, schools, health care and civic/political life.” The reports produced are generally high quality and cover many different subjects. Best all these reports are FREE! Also, teachers in market research classes will find free access to datasets and their related questionnaires.
