The blog is regularly updated and topics include copyright, search engines, domain names, privacy and many more.

Excellent, highly involved site with a wealth of resources for both starting and running a small business.
Excellent resource that includes over 100,000 examples of forms and contracts often broken down by state. Also, contains many other resources including audio recordings and FAQ areas that explain legal issues.
This link will take you to the website for a popular US public television program that focuses on starting and running a small business. There is some good material here including how-to information and case studies, however, you will need to take your time locating good free stuff.

Indispensable U.S. Federal Government site for small business operators looking to start are needing advice running a business.
This B-school site has several categories (themes), including one devoted to marketing, that offer articles, case studies, working papers and other materials including one devoted to marketing. However, some of this material is available only in abstract form and all materials require registration (free) to view.
Leading business school publishes a bi-weekly online magazine that often includes articles on marketing strategy. May need to register (free) to access good stuff.

This online site for a print publication produced by consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton provides access (registration required) to articles on marketing strategy. While site contains a search feature, finding articles may be a little time consuming due to lack of drill down menu items.
The McKinsey Insights
Offers good articles examining the feasibility of various issues faced by businesses.
AT&T offers a full-featured searchable site for locating businesses that includes: finding corporate toll-free telephone numbers, yellow and white pages listings, a reverse lookup where the service displays the person or organization associated with an entered phone number, and links to international phone directories.
The trade group Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals offers a few accessible resources for learning about CI such as answers to basic questions about CI and job information though access to most publications is limited to members.
Economic Research Service
Part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, visitors will find a surprisingly robust site with free access to many reports primarily in the agriculture and food industries.
The Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system is operated by the Securities and Exchange Commission and tracks reports submitted to the SEC by publicly traded companies.
Rankings and lists provided by Forbes Magazine including 2000 largest firms, top small companies, top places for business to locate and many more.
Fortune 500 and Other Lists
Fortune Magazine's well known listing can be viewed in several ways include alphabetically, by industry, by various performance measures or using a customized approach. Fortune also makes available other lists including a Global 500 listing.
This company, which focuses on helping companies carry out competitive intelligence, offers several resources including a dictionary, offering definitions to over 100 key terms used in the competitive intelligence field, and a resources for finding Internet sites that can help with information gathering. Unfortunately, need to register to access and this could be limited to corporate email accounts.
Provides information on over 600,000 mostly B-to-B U.S. manufacturers, wholesaler, and business services. Searchable by product type, company name or brand name. But be aware that coverage is limited with many companies, and especially brand names, not represented here.
International company/product database that claims listing and financial information for over 4 million companies in more than 70 countries. However, to use this effectively searchers will need to access the Advance Search feature, which requires a subscription.
The Open Directory Project consists of a loosely knit group of "editors" who volunteer their time to build what has amounted to the largest human-created, freely accessible directory of websites. For business research it holds great value for locating competitors within an industry since searching using a product or industry keyword often produces a list of categories containing the keyword. Clicking on a few categories may produce listings of potential product or service providers.
Better known as Thomas Register, the leading directory of American manufacturers whose green books are found in many libraries, this site allows users to locate company information for hundreds of thousands of companies in over 65,000 categories. While results are somewhat limited, often only the company name and address, the scope of included companies is impressive. Also, Thomas provides information on international suppliers from 26 countries through its Solusource search engine.
Convenient search form allows for world-wide search of domains names.
Business USA Exporting
This U.S. Federal government site offers several resources for companies interested in exporting including offering insights, rules, FAQs and other information to help companies interested in international trade.
A portal of that links resources from thirty universities located throughout the U.S. The site's mission is to “increase and promote the nation's capacity for international understanding and competitiveness.” Offers links and articles for global business. However, not all locations have web access and some have not been recently updated.
While this site is basically a directory of directories for finding mostly company financial information its real strength is in its international reach. However, it likely requires a registration fee to access.

Interesting site that provides insight on cultural issues to consider when doing business in other countries. Coverage includes discussion of how to make deals, business dress, public behavior and many more tips.

Long a provider of international trade news in print format, the JOC is now available online with extensive resources including sections dedicated to international trade leads, logistics, maritime issues, insurance and links to manufacturers, service firms, trade associations and government agencies dealing with international trade. Some sections of the site are limited to subscribers.

Canadian site that allows users to build country specific market reports and graphs showing imports and exports for Canada and the U.S. that can be examined by product category.
Matchmaking service run by U.S. Commerce Department is designed to bring U.S. suppliers together with international buyers. Offers email notification of sales leads, access to international buyers contact information and posting of company profile. Requires registration fee.
Central portal with many excellent resources including a basic guide to exporting, trade statistics and much more. This site also contains a list of links to country information including market studies, extensive product and industry reports, trade agreement information and many other resources.

Provided by a consortium of world-wide Chambers of Commerce this site includes a searchable directory of members, trade resources and other services.
